Well folks, I met some really amazing people at the Atlanta SuperCon. One of the highlights was hanging out and chatting with Heidi Arhnold. Heidi is an AMAZING (emphasis on A-MAZING) artist and one of the coolest people I've ever met. She's a SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design)graduate and just an all-around cool chick. Is it still OK to say chick in 2008?
Anyway, Heidi is one of the artists responsible for the wicked artwork in Jim Henson's Legends of the Dark Crystal Vol 1: The Garthim Wars. If you don't own this Manga-go get it now. Run to Amazon or Barnes and pick it up. Then Email Heidi and tell her you're sorry for not getting it sooner. Her sketch and ink skills are second to none. This is a great comic. Is it OK to call Mangas comics in 2008?
I did security for the con and Heidi always had time for the fans and fanboys as well. She smiled and nodded and signed her book and was very gracious to everybody. Even little old me! For a bit, I had to guard her booth while she went to the opening ceremony. I was 'that' close to stealing her sketch book she'd left open with some new sketches in it. I didn't though. Is it OK to steal sketch pads in 2008?
Basically, I just wanted to try and get Heidi's name out there. I'm telling everybody I know to pick up her work and check out her site. She's got it all folks: this girl's got talent and she should be watched. Also, I'm planning on getting her Garthim sketch (bottom right) tatted on my back when I get back from Afghanistan. I've got to remember to Email her a PIC of it when it gets done. Sweet...
